However, there are still times when writing a check is an affordable and convenient way to send funds.


When writing a check, you'll need to fill in the payee's name, account number and check amount. Then you'll want to write a memo line to specify the purpose of the payment and include your signature, which is legal proof that you've agreed to pay the recipient the listed amount.
